Tomorrow is Election Day in America, do you know who you're voting for? Maybe you're still undecided or have no motivation to vote. But what if I told you voting November 4th will impact the future of Pennsylvania (especially Norristown)? Although TNP will never endorse a candidate or political party, we feel it is still important to encourage all Norristown residents to get out and vote tomorrow. Here are some facts about the 2014 midterm election.

1. Who you elect in 2014 will determine the makeup of the U.S. Supreme Court and other judicial nominees
2. Homeless residents can use occupancy statements from shelters to vote
3. The midterm elections affect your everyday life more than the presidential elections
4. Governors in 36 states & 3 territories are up for election or reelection.
5. State reps, senators & governors elected during the midterm election will make critical decisions on issues such as education, voting rights and health care
6. Redistricting: redrawing the boundary lines within each state to accommodate population change. This is a powerful tool state legislature uses to define electoral voting blocs
7. Congress is responsible for the 2014 re-authorization of the Higher Education Act which provides Title III funding for HBCUs, tribal colleges, Hispanic & other minority oriented institutions
