The Beach Ball | Annual Spring Gala at ACPPA

Posted By: Unknown - 3:00 AM

Warm sunshine, a cool breeze and the soft sounds of the ocean… Sounds great, right? With all the snow and cold weather this year that seems out of reach but you can get that great beach vacation feel at the ACPPA Community Art Center’s annual Spring Gala! Their Beach Ball has promised to transport guests to a summer paradise with live music, great food, tasty drinks, and of course, all the wonderful friends of the arts.

This year, ACPPA will be hosting a beach picnic dinner three-course meal, complete with “Dip Bar” and 'beachy' cookies and candies. While you eat, listen to the soothing sounds of the Joe DeVito Band’s steel drum music and get the full Caribbean feel of the night! Members can enjoy the relaxation of the Members Only Area, complete with complimentary chair massages and Tiki Bar shooters. Try your luck at the Silent Auction to win Original Artwork, Jewelry, Vacation Get-Aways, Spa Days, Sports Packages, and more.

In addition to all the beach-related fun and art celebration, they will be celebrating this year’s Luminary Award recipient, Mydera Robinson! Nominations for this award are collected for community members that clearly demonstrate a commitment to shining light on the arts and our community. From her work with Center Theater and the Norristown Arts Council to her day to day dedication as a poet and painter and her hand in Spoken Word events like the one she helped initiate at Jus Java, Mydera has more than demonstrated her strong commitment to the arts in the Norristown community.

Join ACPPA at their summer oasis in celebrating the arts and honoring Mydera’s dedication on Saturday, April 26 at 6:30pm at the art center located on the corner of W Airy Street and Haws Avenue. A limited number of tickets are still available for $35 each and can be purchase by calling 610.277.2270 or online at http://www.acppa.net/#!the-beach-ball/c4vd
