Music Monday Spotlight: Martin Witherspoon

Each week, The Norristown Project will highlight a musician in Norristown for the community to support. As you already know, Norristown is an arts community. We feel each organization, business and resident should show support in some way. TNP will contribute to the arts community by posting a blog each Monday and Tuesday highlighting the arts around town. Our town is a community rich in history when it comes to music. Here is a spotlight on our new generation for us to support.

 

This week's musician of the week is Martin Witherspoon. NASDtv has a segment in its programming called 'The Sounds of Town' where they interview an artist and have them perform on-air. Martin visited the NASDtv studios at NAHS to sit down and talk about what motivates him to sing and why he decided music. In the interview, Martin expressed his passion for the piano and other instruments. He cites his father and his church for getting him interested in playing the piano.

NAHS has extremely talented students that deserve recognition for their contribution to the arts community. I don't know about you, but I can only play one song on the piano (Mary Had A Little Lamb).

 

Show your support for home-grown artists in Norristown as they follow their dreams. The arts in Norristown is alive and well.
