The first week of April is right around the corner! Scroll down for some of the activities happening in Norristown from our Community Calendar. I would like to remind you of our calendar and how it is completely free and ONLY highlights events within our borders. Sunday, March 30

  • Buried Child - 2:00pm @ Centre Theater - On a road trip to his Grandfather's farm in Illinois, Vince hopes to renew his lost family ties. Instead, he finds himself trapped in a dark family mystery. With wicked black humor, Shepard's Pulitzer Prize winning play is a dazzingly profound look at the fragmentation of the myth of the American family. Tuesday, April 1st 

  • Free AARP Tax-aid Preparation - 10:00am @ Norristown Public Library - AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is available free to taxpayers with low and moderate income, with special attention to those 60 and older. Through a cadre of trained volunteers, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide has helped low- to moderate-income individuals for more than 40 years in every state and the District of Columbia.   • Healthy Me! - 10:30am @ Norristown Public Library - Preschoolers learn about caring for their teeth, exercise, and healthy eating through stories, crafts and hand-on activities. Ages 3-5 with a caregiver. Registration required. Call 610-278-5100 x205 or stop by the Children's Department to register.

Wednesday, April 2nd 

  • Baby Lap Rap -  10:30am@ Norristown Public Library - Simple stories, songs, rhymes and fingerplays for you and your baby! Ages 0-24 months with a caregiver. Drop in.
  • English is Fun! - 3:45pm @ Norristown Public Library - An interactive activity hour for children to learn and/or improve English language skills through music, art, games, books, and conversation. Ages 3-6 with a caregiver. Drop in.

Thursday, April 3rd

  • Toddler Tickle Tales - 10:30am @ Norristown Public Library - Stories, songs, fingerplays and simple games for the active toddler and early preschool child, followed by playgroup time with toys. Ages 2-4 with a caregiver.
  • Strengthening Families Program - 6:00pm at Stewart Middle School - This is a free 7-week program that meets one night a week. Family dinner and childcare for younger siblings is provided, free of charge. Each week during the first hour, parents and youth meet separately but work on similar skills. During the second hour, the parents and youth have fun together as they play games and do family projects. 

Friday, April 4th

  • Friday After Work Happy Hour - 4:30pm @ Jus' Java - Come out for Happy Hour stating at 4:30. Live music, discounted food and drink specials. Fun for all.

  • Sensory-Friendly Storytime - 10:30am @ Norristown Public Library - Sensory-friendly story times are designed to be inclusive and welcoming for children with special needs ages 3-6. In order to provide a supportive and relaxed environment for children and their families, class sizes will be kept small. Registration required; please call Tracee at 610-278-5100 x 144.
