Monday, February 10th


  • Be Your Own Boss - 10:00 am - The CADCOM Micro-Enterprise BYOB program is intended to create opportunities for entrepreneurs in Montgomery County who are interested in developing new business enterprises or capacity building for those who already own them. The program offers a series of classes, business seminars and workshops that provide training, resources and information useful to any aspiring or active business person.   • Understanding Credit - 7:00 pm @ Genesis Housing Offices - This free class is sponsored by Genesis Housing Corporation. Obtain a free credit report from major credit bureaus with scores. Tuesday, February 11th

  • Free AARP Tax-Aid Preparation - 10:00 am @ Norristown Public Library - AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is available free to taxpayers with low and moderate income, with special attention to those 60 and older. Through a cadre of trained volunteers, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide has helped low- to moderate-income individuals for more than 40 years in every state and the District of Columbia.   • Coffee Hour Bible Study - 6:30 pm @ Jus' Java - Come Sip and Flip Through the Word, Every Tuesday beginning at 6:30pm. RSVP TO: Erica 610-226-7977.

Wednesday, February 12th

  • Strengthening Families Program - 6:00 pm @ Eisenhower Science and Technology Leadership Academy - The Strengthening Families Program has arrived in our schools and community. This exciting new program is designed for strong and loving families to work and have fun together. It provides parents and youth (ages 10-14) with the opportunity to reinforce positive communication, family bonding and joint problem solving. This is a free 7-week program that meets one night a week. Family dinner and chlidcare for younger siblings is provided, free of charge. Each week during the first hour, parents and youth meet separately but work on similar skills. During the second hour, the parents and youth have fun together as they play games and do family projects.   • Remembering Our Heritage - 6:00 pm @ Municipal Hall - Norristown Black History Committee presents the 19th Annual Celebration of "Remembering Our Heritage" to celebrate Black History Month. Thursday, February 13th

  • African-American Jazz Ensemble - 1:30 pm @ Eisenhower Science and Technology Leadership Academy - Presented by Students from Eisenhower Science and Technology Leadership Academy. Students in the music ensembles from Eisenhower Science and Technology Leadership Academy will present various instrumental and vocal musical selections to honor Black History Month on Thursday, February 13th from 1:30-2:30 p.m. In addition to familiar tunes, the audience will enjoy individual compositions by students as they share their musical talents on piano, vocals, and with other instruments.

Friday, February 14th

  • Make A Valentine! - 2:00 pm @ MCN-Public Library - Drop in to create your own Valentine masterpiece for your special valentine. Ages 5-12.
  • Teen Valentine's Dance - 7:00 pm at Masonic Hall - Generation Next Track Club Valentine's Day Dance for 7th, 8th, and 9th graders at the Masonic Hall. Tickets are $3.00, music by DJ Pooda.
