TNP Announces Norristown Recycles Day

Posted By: Unknown - 3:00 AM

One day to educate. One day to motivate. One day to make recycling bigger and better 365 days a year. in honor of earth month, TNP would like to announce another special project we are working on for the fall. it is called Norristown Recycles Day and will consist of a huge day of recycling and learning about recycling.

Recycling is an important part of protecting the environment, especially in Norristown. You can do your part each day by opting in Norristown's recycling program at home or encourage your employer to create a recycling program.

Norristown Recycles Day is a day to raise awareness on the importance of everyday recycling. As the population in Norristown continues to rise with the development of apartments and town homes across the area, more and more litter fills the streets with most of it recyclable.

We are lucky to live in a community that has a recycling program available to all properties in Norristown. Unfortunately, many of us don't take advantage in the program...but we still pay for it! Does that make any sense?

So recycle as often as possible since you are paying for it as a homeowner. Even if you're a renter, use the recycling bin your landlord has provided you with. If your apartment doesn't have a recycle bin, ask your landlord to pick one up from municipal hall. The first one is free, $15 for a replacement/additional.

The details for Norristown Recycles Day are still being worked out, but once more activities are confirmed, we will send updates through email, blog and social media.

Notice how I didn't say anything about sharing this event through flyers? That's because TNP is taking a step in protecting the environment by printing less flyers! For all our events and community cleanups, we will publish all flyers online and through email, but we will never print to hand out. This is our way in protecting the environment. Plus, we'll probably end up picking them up at one of our cleanups!

Save the date! Norristown Recycles Day will take place on November 15th and we hope all 30,000+ residents participate in the annual event.

What are your recycling tips you do at home?
