Theater Tuesday: Free Tix at Theatre Horizon

Posted By: Unknown - 3:00 AM

Have you ever entered a contest to win free tickets to a concert/show? Have you ever won? Yes and no! What if I told you Norristown residents get free tickets to Theatre Horizon without the hassle of entering a contest? You'd probably think I'm crazy, but I'm speaking the truth! Today, we will talk about Theatre Horizon and how they offer FREE tickets for Norristown residents sponsored by PNC Arts Alive.

I mentioned in last week's post that the talent coming from the Arts Hill makes you feel like you're on Broadway. It feels great that you don't have to travel far for an amazing performance. The Arts Hill offers professional performances and experienced actors/actresses in their shows. The fact that high-quality performances are taking place in our own backyard is something to be proud of.

Theatre Horizon has a free ticket program sponsored by PNC Arts Alive for Norristown residents. The process to get your free tickets is very simple. You call their office at (610) 283-2230 and ask about their 'free ticket program'; from there they will ask for your name, home address, phone number, email, and # of tickets. Within 24 hours you will receive a confirmation email to print and bring with you to the performance. Just like that, you're in! Quick and painless.

Their next show you can get in free is Hitchcock's 'The 39 Steps' beginning May 15th and ending June 8th. Here is the synopsis:

"Mix an Alfred Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have The 39 Steps—a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre! This 2-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning treat is packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters (played by a ridiculously talented cast of 4), an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old-fashioned romance!"

Here is a promo video from another theater's version of 'The 39 Steps'. I'm excited to see Theatre Horizon's version! I watched the entire film online before writing this post. If you are a fan of classic films, add it to your list then see the play May 15th live in Norristown!

Each show is free for Norristown residents with the exception of the final two performances (7th and 8th). You must call in advance to reserve your free tickets! I recommend doing so at least two days in advance. You don't want to get left out because of a performance being sold out!
